History & Humanities
This course is based on a four-year history cycle and is taught using Charlotte Mason methods of oral and written narration and dictation. For the 2026-27 school year, this course will cover Medieval and Renaissance History. Students will engage in Socratic discussion with peers under the supervision and direction of an experienced teacher. This course is taught from a Christian worldview, and will cover History, Literature, Grammar, Writing & Composition, Worldview, Church History & Debate. Students will also be expected to be in God’s Word every day. The textbooks are carefully reviewed and selected based on the overall needs of the current class.
This course can be customized by the parents. If there is a book you’d like to leave off or replace with another, that is perfectly acceptable.

Full Credits: 1 English, 1 History, 1 Literature
Half Credits: 1/2 Citizenship, 1/2 Speech & Debate (Speech: Students will present quarterly papers in class and learn public speaking skills throughout the year. Debate: During the third quarter, students will learn and take part in Lincoln-Douglas debates in class. )
Requirements: Approximately 2 hours of daily work at home.
**This class is offered on our schedule twice. It is a once-a-week class that we offer on two separate days for scheduling convenience and class size needs.
